There was some yarn left from the dark-green jacket/long shrug and I decided to give a chance to some knitting pattern I had come across. I also used some lighter green yarn I found at home (there was a little left from some old project).

This time I'm using 4mm knitting needles.

furry yellow creatures

I recently (1st Seept 2011) bought some yellow mohair yarn (mohair and acryllic, in fact)....and the plan is to knit a soooooft, looooose and hairy sweater using 6mm-gauge knitting needles.

I got 4 skeins (50 gr. each)....Enough, or more that enough when it comes to knitting. Besides I don't plan to knit long sleeves.

The outcome, up to now, is quite nice.

dark-green rectangle becomes...

....a sort of jacket (well, rather a long shrug). I had already used the method of knitting a rectangle and then folding and sewing it in a certain way so as to get a jacket, bolero, etc.

I till have to post the pictures of it with the pockets (big ones!) I added.....and of me wearing it (in the pictures it's difficult to imagine how does it look like when being worn).

SOFA BLUES

Yet another blanket....this time a knitted one instead of a crocheted one. I didn't have any plan about knitting blankets or plaids...but having found yarn left-overs (small and big yarn balls, single yarn balls, all forgotten after having finished projects a long time ago and knowing there's no chance to find more of the same yarn) -woman meets yarn- I began to think about options and ideas.

The decorative circles and the rim were crocheted...also using left-overs. The motifs were made simply randomly using knit and purl stitches...all quite simple and easy.

(by the way...the pics show the blanket-plaid on my bed..but it's been on the sofa, its place, for several days already)

green fall-winter

At a Bershka shop I saw again a kind of pattern I had already thought about using in a knitting project. The fact that this time the colours I saw were really appealling to me and that we're again in Autumn made me rethink the idea. And i looked for some quite-forgotten dark green yarn balls and skeins.

Finally I started crocheting something using some violet-blue degraded mohair yarn I bought in December, at Llanes Tosca (see previous posts).

Mustard-yellow

Finally.... The yellow scarf I started crocheting some time ago is finally ready to be used. Good timing since temperatures are lower again.

Stitches

I got an interesting present these days: a book about knitting (how to+stitch patterns). I’ve always preferred crochet since when, many years ago, I tried knitting, I felt pretty clumsy and didn’t remember much about what I had been taught even more years ago. But I did remember a lot about crochet. I downloaded patterns and learnt many techniques. But knitting? At first I saw the book and felt.....it’s a pity I can’t really knit well....But then I gave it a try and managed to learn and I’m no longer that clumsy at it. The book ended up being one of the best presents I could have received since it meant learning something new. It feels so great to have learnt something new!!!

Wrap with flowers...

Yellow (mustard Yellow). After quite a looong long time, I was back into crocheting. I missed creating woollen stuff....and colder temperatures had come and it’s still a long time until they leave.

I managed to remember the flower pattern I was taught many years ago. I had never drawn it down so I had to try and undo and redo several times until I got it. I’m already using the second yarn ball (each of 100gr approx.)....so I'll finish the yellow scarf pretty soon....

Assymetric blanket...for a round and symetric winter. Round and warm winter...coming sooner, faster than we expect it to knock on the door...

happy green jacket

finally!!!! I bought the yarn to do-some-jacket-or-bolero in August (at Labores Epi, in Salamanca city)....but I didn't find the stitch pattern+idea until recently. I found the stitch pattern in some russian site (with scanned magazines)...I tried crocheting using that pattern with the green yarn (I'll will post the name and colour) and went on crocheting an improvised jacket (I didn't use any pattern) since I liked the way it looked like....and recently I finished....the jacked is ready to be worn!

black-purple vest

So...it's getting colder finally...unlike last Autumn, which were rather strange and warm. I needed a vest. Last Thursday I wanted to get some extra yarn (colour: eggplant -more or less, but not too dark-) for something on process but I came across some nice and warm yarn susceptible to become a vest. 1 purple yarn ball and 3 black yarn balls (but I just used 1 and a half of the black ones)....1.50€ each yarn ball. Because of the gauge of the yarn (I think it's acrylic, not wool or cotton) and the crochet hooks I used (4.00mm and 5.50mm) it took me little time to crochet the vest...I finished it the same day I finished reading for the first time all the lessons for Cos Superior (opos times). Well..I finish this post here listening to some songs by Grč (from the album: "Rijeka-Paris-Texas" (1987), by various musicians)..nothing to do with vests and Opos Times.

the pink scarf

In 2 days I managed to crochet a scarf. I just used 1 yarn ball and I had -fortunately- enough. The colour looks different in the pictures due to the different types of light. It's in fact hard to describe the colour...Those who will see me wearing this brand new scarf will be able to appreciate and judge the colour.

Bolero/vest

2 yarn balls, 1€ each... = nice green bolero-vest

Several months ago I bought several yarn balls and a pair of them were green and I planed to crochet some kind of jacket or bolero with them...or some kind of vest. And it was in late June that I got inspired and had time...finally.

Again, I had an idea about the length...then got inspired thanks to some picture of a bolero with frills...But then I chose some stitch pattern I liked (which happened to be very easy and made crocheting faster)....and I improvised.

Unexpensive, nice, warm (but not too much), easily and quickly done...and there's even some green acrylic yarn left...So, I can still do some green flower to pin onto some jacket or t-shirt.

And here are the results. Finally I have a green bolero-vest!...ah..but unfortunately now it's summer... :( Patience...

Well, here is the schema (click to enlarge the image)!! I hope that it's clear...The stitch pattern is pretty simple and easy. The size is Small, for somebody with 90B (bra) or 34 (global) (Spanish sizes)

Winter winter

People buy yarn and wool in late summer so as to get all knitted or crocheted items ready for autumn and winter (it's a pseudo-scientific truth). It feels quite odd to be surrounded by wool when it’s still quite hot (unless you manage to control your mind to avoid sensations and succeed in feeling it's not hot). For this winter I thought that I needed some kind of hat...it was quite cold when I ended the classes in Barcelona and took a train back to my city. At almost 11 at night it was cold when I stepped out of the train and had to walk back home. I don’t like to wear hats, or whatever wearable on the head...but maybe, wearing something I made, doesn’t feel that uncomfortable. Green hat - green ideas. For the hat I used Katia austral, colour 26 (50% wool, 50% acrylic, the dark violet wool I used for the bolero)...and some green for the flower (see post about he cell phone cases), I bought the dark green wool at Merceria Santa Ana (but it’s not difficult to find Katia yarn and wool). I began to crochet the hat as I watched (well, listened and sometimes watched) a chapter of some documentary series on Tibet. Several monks making a mandala there, at the other side. And in front of the screen there was me, crocheting. Circles, geometry. Several do and re-do, forward, backward, forward...because I wasn’t following any schema...and I just had my intuition to know when to reduce the diameter and get something to fit the head ( i didn't want to end up having a pseudo-sphere instead of a semi-sphere= hat).
